Union Recreation Remodel
It has been 20 years since the Union Recreation space has seen a significant update, but a partnership with Pepsi Co. and the University of Utah’s Business Auxillary Services department allowed the Union Recreation to receive a completely new look! As a campus partner, Pepsi wanted to help create a revamped space for students to unwind and hangout. The Union Recreation space was a perfect fit.
Adding to the table tennis and billiards, Pepsi purchased a University of Utah branded shuffleboard. They also purchased two Xboxes, two PS4s, two Nintendo Switches and four old-school arcade gaming consoles. This updated gaming lounge is the best campus spot for students to play everything from the original PAC-MAN to the latest games, all for free. Four TVs and new seating were added next to the original big screen, allowing multiple TV channels to be viewed at the same time. A perfect solution for watching the NCAA Tournament, World Cup, and other sporting events that are broadcast simultaneously.
Last but not least, a new paint job and larger than life University of Utah decor really updated the look of the space, giving it a much more collegiate feel that screams Utah pride!
