    Strolling for Scholarships Recap

On Friday, November 22, 2019, the Union hosted its first-ever Strolling for Scholarships event. This beautiful evening consisted of the work of eight talented artists, charcuterie, and wonderful company. The event served as a fundraiser for the Union Scholarship Fund, and the Union is excited to report it was a terrific success. At the event, we raised enough money to fund an additional scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The Union is home to a tremendous art collection and art is at the heart of the Union. Additionally, at the annual Union Scholarship Celebration, art is consistently popular in the event’s silent auction. With an understanding that art is at the core of the Union and an interest in art from our scholarship supporters, Strolling for Scholarships made perfect sense. Each artist who was present at the event gave 50% of their sales back to the Union Scholarship Fund – an extremely generous contribution.

Last year, local artist Ran Stewart – a longtime supporter of the Union Scholarship Fund and friend of the Union – announced his commitment to contribute 40% of his proceeds of all art purchased through a unique URL to the Union Scholarship Fund. Ran was instrumental in the recruitment of artists, design of the space, and facilitation of Strolling for Scholarships. We are extremely grateful to Ran for his partnership, his friendship, his time, and his support of the Union Scholarship Fund. To see Ran’s beautiful work and potentially purchase a piece in support of the Union Scholarship Fund, please visit ranartstudio.com/UnionScholarshipFund

During the event, we had countless individuals share how excited they are for next year’s Strolling for Scholarships. With that feedback in mind, we are excited to announce that Strolling for Scholarships will now be the annual fall fundraiser for the Union Scholarship Fund!
