COVID-19 Union Updates

The Union is open from 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday but closed on weekends.

At this time, the building is only open to University Students, Staff & Faculty as well as essential workers.

The only unlocked doors will be the main east entrance doors where UTA and campus shuttles drop off their passengers.

Following state and local guidelines, Union Events and Scheduling can schedule meetings in the Union. Meetings must consist of only University Students, Staff, & Faculty and can not exceed more than 20 people at this time.

The basement computer lab, Union Administration Office, and the Union Services Desk will be open while the building is open. Mail for the Union and Gardner Commons will be at the Union Services Desk.

The Feed U Pantry will also be open but hours will vary. Specific hours will be posted on union.utah.edu/feedupantry later this week.

The Union Food Court will remain closed but Dining Services will be providing a free self-serve coffee station in the lobby each morning.

If you are a student enrolled for Fall in need of a laptop or other technology equipment, see Marriott Library student checkout equipment

If you are in need of off-campus internet access, many Xfinity and Xmission public wireless locations are free to access. . Xfinity Internet Essentials is free for 2 months to qualified customers and $9.95 in subsequent months. Students enrolled for Fall can request a mobile hotspot from Marriott Library student checkout equipment

Center For Disability & Access


As of Wednesday, March 18th, all university instruction will be conducted on-line, and all CDA services are being provided virtually. The CDA is here to support students and faculty through this transition and attempt to provide as much continuity of accommodations as possible. Center For Child care & Family Resources


If you need a SAFE, CLEAN, and HEALTHY environment for your child, UKids – Child Care Programs are fully prepared to offer full-day child care for University Health Essential Personnel from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays through this transitional period. We have child care available for children 6 weeks to 8 years old (up until their 9th birthday) for children who are healthy and symptom-free.

Financial Wellness Center

The Financial Wellness Center is closed for in-person visits. Those seeking financial counseling can email us to set up a virtual appointment through financialwellness.utah.edu.

Those seeking help with tax preparation, direct them to utahtaxhelp.org for self-filing. If they have questions, they can set up a virtual appointment through our website above.

UCard Office

In order to do our part to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, UCard Services would like to limit in-office service, by providing services through technology and delivery methods as much as possible. Starting March 17th – April 1st, online submissions, email requests, phone ins, and card delivery through campus mail will be the preferred methods of service. Since we will have limited staff and limited office hours we ask that you hold off on costmetic badge changes like new photos, department/title changes etc. We appreciate your help & patience!
